PMLD/SLD (SEN) Teaching Assistants needed!

Teaching Personnel is working with a SEN school based in Nuneaton with pupils from 4-11 with multiple forms of learning difficulties including; Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) & Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school is Early Years, KS1 and KS2.

This positions have arisen due to increased headcount on the school roll. All applicants must have recent experience working with children with special educational needs, in either a primary school or specialist SEN environment. The classes consists of no more than 8 pupils with a broad range of learning difficulties and complex needs and consist of mainly Autistic students. You would be working alongside a very experienced LSA who is very supportive, friendly and hardworking. You will also benefit from the schools exceptional CPD and in house training schemes. The ideal candidate would have:

  • A proven record of teaching SEN students with a range of needs - preferably PMLD/SLD/MLD and complex needs
  • A good understanding of P levels
  • The ability to prepare and teach effective lessons taking into account the individual needs of learners
  • Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton
  • Happy to undertake Personal Care duties
