PMLD Primary Teaching Assistant – Ammanford Area
Location: Ammanford, Carmarthenshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term (with potential to become permanent)

We’re looking for a Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in the Ammanford area, working with pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

About the Role
You’ll support children across the primary age range (4–11) with a variety of complex learning and physical needs. Working alongside experienced teachers and a caring support team, you’ll help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for all learners.
Your role will include:
- Supporting pupils with PMLD in their learning, communication, and daily routines
- Providing personal care (toileting, feeding, mobility support, etc.) with dignity and compassion
- Assisting with sensory-based and play-led learning activities
- Helping pupils to achieve their personal goals and celebrate every success — big or small!
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Has experience or a genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs
- Understands the importance of personal care and approaches it with empathy and professionalism
- Is reliable, patient, and positive — with a “can do” attitude
- Works well as part of a team and is ready to get involved in every aspect of school life

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
