Phonics Specialist Higher Level Teaching Assistant

About the Position:

Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced, Phonics trained Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to lead intervention groups and support children with their literacy across the year groups. The role requires an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has experience of working in primary schools and using Jolly Phonics, Letters & Sounds and/or Read, Write, Inc.

Our partnership school is rated Good by Ofsted and is easily accessible by bus and train transport links and is close to the A64. The school promotes inclusion and offers a supportive environment not only for the children, but the staff alike. A passion for working with children and ambition to become a teacher in the future are highly desirable.

Job Role Requirements:

• Have previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a primary school or alternative provisions
• Have previous experience delivering Phonics interventions and have knowledge of either Jolly Phonics, Letters & Sounds or Read, Write, Inc
• Are able to access south York and are happy to commit to a full-time role
• Are passionate about supporting children academically and differentiating learning resources
• Fully support inclusive education
