Personal Care Assistant - Darlington

Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of an OFSTED graded "Good" school in the Darlington area, who are looking to recruit a personal care assistant.

The successful candidate will be required to offer personal care to children aged 4-11. You will have a desire for working with children and be looking to make a real difference. You must be a strong role model, motivated and dedicated to providing outstanding teaching support. Ideally you will have experience of working within an educational setting supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and Autism. Candidates with a background in Health and Social Care, or Care Assistant Work will also be considered.

The ideal teaching assistant will -

  • Have experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age
  • Have numeracy/literacy skills (at a level equivalent to NQF Level 2)
  • Have an understanding of the role of the Teaching Assistant and other professionals working in the classroom
  • Have experience of delivering personal care
  • Have an understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
  • Have an accredited Team-Teach qualification (Teaching Personnel can offer this training)
