Good Rated Secondary School in Basingstoke- Recruiting for Science MAT cover in the summer term.

This LEA school in Basingstoke are looking to employ a temporary teacher of Science with Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) to undertake a 9 month maternity position within their small department. The school have just under 700 pupils on roll, and are currently oversubscribed, due to their excellent reputation within the local area.

Last year 91% of students achieved a Grade 4 or higher in Science.

They are looking for a teacher with experience teaching both KS3 and KS4, with a passion and drive to help the pupils in their care reach their full potential both academically and in pastoral roles. The are hoping for a teacher who is willing to collaborate with the science department engaging with other members of the faculty and striving to improve and succeed in all aspects of teaching and learning.

This role is suitable for an NQT and full support will be given during the duration of this role.

The department is currently being overseen by one of the deputy heads at the school who also looks after the design technology faculty within the school, this allows for close support within school to ensure that all staff are being offered the correct level of support and CPD in order to ensure the attainment of the pupils is at the correct level to continue being competitive in the area and nationally.
