Sports Coach Jobs in Education in York

The Job

Teaching Personnel are working with a client Alternative Provision in York, to appoint a flexible and highly adaptable Sports Graduate or Sports Coach Teaching Assistant. You will be working within class sizes of 7-12 pupils, with at least one other Teaching Assistant and the Class Teacher to assist. Your job will be to support students with their academic and personal development, with lots of 1:1 and very small group work. The School day is 0830-1530. You will have plenty of opportunity to support within PE lessons across Primary and Secondary classes, including leading practical GCSE PE lessons. The School have a dedicated PE and Sports Pupil Premium, so are keen for someone from a sporting background.

The School

The School is for children aged 5-16 years old, with a range of behavioural difficulties to include ADHD, MLD and SEMH. They are diverse in comparison to mainstream Schools, in that staff roles and the curriculum are adapted where possible to cater for the needs of the young people in our care; therefore, it is crucial that core expectations are met to maintain a quality structure. The School aims to provide excellent achievement opportunities for its young people and provide them with skills for the future, by teaching them how to develop positive behaviours and constructive attitudes.
