PE teacher - Sheffield

Do you have experience working with children and young people? Are you looking for a full-time PE Teacher role from October 2019?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a Secondary Academy in Sheffield, aiding them in recruiting a new PE Teacher to start after October half term. Our client academy is located in Sheffield and can be accessed via the M1 from surrounding areas such as Barnsley and Rotherham. For non-drivers, there are several public transportation links from surrounding areas including Chesterfield and Doncaster

  • Full-time PE teacher role from October 2019 until the end of the academic year
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4
  • Must hold specific subject qualifications within Physical Education
  • Both newly qualified and experienced PE teachers are welcome to apply to this position as relevant induction support will be provided.
  • Pay in line with teaching scale point (£23,720 - £39,406 per annum)
  • Secondary Academy looking for ambitious staff to help improve overall student attainment and morale

The successful PE Teacher will be expected to:

  • Assess and evaluate student's progress, reporting back to Senior Teachers
  • Support interventions for pupils who require additional support within PE lessons
  • Plan and deliver differentiated PE lessons to ensure all students are fully engaged in the curriculum
  • Promote positive behaviour management skills amongst all pupils and manage behaviour in lie with the school's behaviour policy
  • Be confident in working with slightly challenging behaviour or learning difficulties such as dyslexia

Our partner academy is looking for a PE Teacher to aid student's attainment and support pupils with challenging behaviour who acquire a lower level of learning ability. The academy has stated candidates with experience of challenging behaviour is desirable however not essential, as the school does provide excellent behavioural support for their staff.
