Pastoral Support Officer
Job description
Teaching Personnel is pleased to support schools across Kent in recruiting compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Support Officers. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide essential wellbeing and pastoral care to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and thrive in school life.
The Role:
As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will work closely with students, families, and school staff to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and group support to students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.

Assist with managing attendance and punctuality issues.
-
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as required.

Support the implementation of pastoral policies and interventions.
-
Promote a positive and inclusive school environment.
Requirements:
-
Experience working with children or young people in an educational, social work, or youth support setting is preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to work empathetically and confidentially with students and families.
-
Organised and able to manage caseloads effectively.
-
DBS clearance (or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
