About the Role
Teaching Personnel, the UK’s leading education recruitment agency, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Assistant to join one of our partner secondary schools in [Location]. This role is crucial in supporting the emotional, social, and academic well-being of students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pastoral support to students, addressing their individual needs and helping to resolve issues related to behavior, attendance, and personal challenges.
- Work closely with the school's pastoral team to monitor student welfare and implement strategies to promote a positive and inclusive school environment.
- Assist in the organization and delivery of pastoral programs such as mentoring, workshops, and group activities that foster students' personal development.
- Build strong relationships with students, offering guidance and support to help them navigate their school experience and personal challenges.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to student support, making referrals as necessary.
- Monitor and track student attendance, behavior, and progress, maintaining accurate records and providing reports to senior staff as required.
- Support the school's safeguarding policies, ensuring that all students are safe and any concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions, contributing to the development of the school's pastoral care strategy.

- Experience working with young people in an educational or support role, with a strong understanding of the challenges they may face.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- A caring and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting the well-being and development of young people.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
