Job description

Are you eager to gain valuable experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is currently seeking enthusiastic Part-Time Teaching Assistants to join our team. We collaborate with numerous SEN schools in and around Plymouth, and there is a high demand for support staff on a part-time and flexible basis.

As a Part-Time Teaching Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to work flexibly, choosing your availability week by week via our online diary system. You'll be contacted for work based on the days you've made available, providing you with the flexibility you need.

Successful candidates will work to support students either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, both within the classroom and out in the community, to facilitate their access to learning.

We're interested in hearing from you if:

  • You have a genuine passion for working with children who have SEN and can create a safe and positive learning environment.
  • While experience in education or working with individuals with special needs is desired, we welcome applicants who are passionate, engaging, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.

Commitment is crucial, and we require candidates to commit to at least two terms of work to ensure stability and consistency for the students.

To work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. We provide full assistance if you need to apply for a new check, with the standard cost of £38 plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
