Teaching Personnel are excited to present a great opportunity for a Year 1 Teacher to join one of our partner primary schools in Thamesmead. The school have a very close community and are looking for a teacher that will really get involved in the school life. A previous member of staff placed through Teaching Personnel said "It's great; you really feel like part of the team and not just supply staff". The school is easily accessible with Abbey Wood Station nearby (Thameslink, Southeastern) and they also have on-site parking.

At the heart of the school is their passion for education with the drive to allow all children to achieve their personal best. The sense of pride in the school is tangible across parents, pupils and staff. The school has a focus on offering an innovative and creative practice. They are always seeking new ways to engage children in learning experiences that work to develop a lifelong love of learning. As part of this they work in partnership with a local academy of four schools to support and learn from others.

The leadership are incredibly supportive and will really make every effort to include you as a member of the team. The school is ambitious to achieve excellence in all areas and the highly experienced head teacher is well placed to support this. The school achieved Ofsted 'Outstanding' in their most recent inspection and they are driven to maintain this.

Key criteria for the successful candidate:

  • Experience of delivering high quality teaching in EYFS/KS1 within a school
  • Experience of working with SEND pupils in a whole class setting
  • An understanding of what constitutes high standards in learning within KS1 and how to sustain this
