Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant

The Role
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.
Job Title: Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Nelson
Contract: Part-time, Term-time only
Hours: 8.30am – 12pm
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs.
- Foster independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals.
- Assist with record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress.

- Experience working with children, ideally within an educational or SEN setting.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
