EYFS Teaching Assistant

We are looking to appoint a nurturing and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our early years team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young children at the start of their education, helping to create a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive.

Contract: Full-time   
Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm
Salary: £14.55 - £15.50 per hour
Start Date: Tuesday 1^st September 2026

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning in line with the EYFS Framework
• Work with individuals and small groups to support learning, development and independence
• Assist with planning and preparing engaging, play-based learning activities
• Support children’s personal, social and emotional development
• Observe, monitor and record children’s progress
• Help to maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
• Support children with additional needs, including SEN, where required
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and early years provision

Essential Requirements

• A relevant EYFS qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years)
• Experience working with children in an EYFS setting
• A strong understanding of the EYFS Framework
• A caring, patient and positive approach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable Skills

• Experience supporting children with additional needs
• Knowledge of phonics and early language development
• A proactive and creative approach to supporting learning through play
