Part Time SEN Classroom Assistant

Are you looking to get back into work, or into work for the first time?

Are you interested in working part time as an SEN teaching assistant or lunch time supervisor in an outstanding special needs school near Mile End?

I am currently supplying support staff to a SEN school near Mile End, which caters for children who have autism and more complex needs, including those who are wheelchair users. The school has regular requirements for day to day support staff and midday meal supervisors to cover absences on a flexible basis, the amount of which will vary from week to week.

The ideal candidate:

  • Flexible, part time availability
  • You must be able to start at 08:30am and finish at 15:30pm if you are working full days, or 11:30am – 13:30pm if you are doing lunch cover
  • Have experience of working with children, particularly those with special needs
  • Live local to Beckenham/Catford, or be able to travel here easily
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service, or be willing to complete a new application
  • Be able to use PECS and/or Makaton, or be willing to learn
  • Able to provide personal care, including toileting and changing
