Job description

Part-Time Art Teacher – Infant School, Slough

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Part-Time Art Teacher to join our friendly infant school in Slough. The successful candidate will inspire children aged 4–7 to explore art through a range of materials, techniques, and imaginative activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging art lessons that support the early years and KS1 curriculum.

  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and confidence.

  • Prepare materials and maintain a safe, well-organised art space.

  • Assess and celebrate children’s work, providing feedback that supports development.

  • Work collaboratively with staff to support whole-school activities and displays.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching young children (school or nursery setting preferred).

  • A passion for art and creativity, with the ability to make lessons enjoyable and accessible.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • Relevant teaching qualification is preferred but we welcome applications from skilled art practitioners with experience working with children.

Hours & Pay

  • Part-time: 2–3 days per week (days negotiable).

  • Term-time only.

  • Salary dependent on experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
