Job description

Cover Supervisor 
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Long-term placement
Location: Burnley
Pay: Dependent on skills and experience 

We are currently seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join an Alternative Provision setting in Burnley. This is a rewarding long-term opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people who require a more tailored and supportive learning environment.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead small groups of students who are being taught outside of the mainstream classroom environment

  • Deliver and manage lessons across a range of subjects, following work set by the class teacher

  • Maintain a positive and focused learning atmosphere

  • Support students with a variety of needs, promoting engagement and progress

  • Effectively manage behaviour, promoting respect, consistency and structure

About You

  • Experience working with young people, ideally within an Alternative Provision or SEN setting

  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach

  • Confident leading lessons across a range of subjects

  • Able to build positive relationships and motivate learners

  • Reliable, resilient and committed to supporting students to reach their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
