Paid Teaching Assistant Roles – Flexible Around Your Studies

Are you starting or currently studying at Bournemouth University and looking for rewarding, paid work that fits around your timetable?

We’re hiring flexible Teaching Assistants to support young people in specialist educational settings across Dorset – including local Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), Alternative Provisions, and SEN schools.

What’s the Job?

  • Support students aged 5–19 with emotional, behavioural or learning needs

  • Assist with lessons, activities, mentoring and classroom engagement

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups alongside experienced staff

  • Build valuable hands-on experience in education, psychology or youth work

Who We’re Looking For

You're a BU student who:

  • Is studying a relevant degree, such as:

    • Education

    • Psychology

    • Social Work

    • Childhood & Youth Studies

    • Criminology

    • Nursing or Allied Health

  • Is empathetic, patient, and eager to make a difference

  • Can commit to flexible hours during term-time

  • Has some prior experience (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work)—but this is not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
