A highly successful secondary school in Bournemouth are looking for a full-time P.E Teacher from November 2021 on a full-time basis to cover maternity leave. 

The P.E department are looking to appoint a P.E Teacher who will deliver engaging, well planned and appropriate lessons that secure the progress of all learners. A Teacher who will encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to fully achieve their potential. The school are happy to consider experienced P.E Teachers as well as Newly Qualified P.E Teachers.

Main responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and work with other teachers on the preparation and development of teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral arrangements. 
  • To be able to create innovative and engaging lessons to suit all students needs. 
  • To be able to differentiate work to suit all students needs.
  • Carry out other teaching activities to include the provision and guidance to pupils on educational and social matters. Communicate and consult with parents and outside bodies where appropriate and attend associated meetings. 
  • Lead and participate in timetabled extra-curricular activities. 
  • Maintain an accurate register of attendance and do everything possible to encourage good attendance.
  • Carry out planning, course preparation, marking and assessment of student work, in line with the schools policy.

The Physical Education department is a well established and supportive team of four teachers, all very much looking forward to welcoming a new staff member. The department is well-equipped with top of the range facilities including four netball courts, large sports field and a sports hall. As a department the team are firm believers that everyone is entitled to participate in sporting activities and the team should try and cater for the needs of all of the students. School clubs run at lunchtime and after school, with a full fixture programme in place.

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • Have exceptional knowledge of the New Ofsted Framework.
  • A proven knowledge of the changing national education  agenda. 
  • Are committed to sustaining and raising achievement, attainment and aspirations of all students P.E.
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain positive, enthusiastic and resilient when faced with challenging situations.
  • Trained within safeguarding and the SEN Code of Practice. 
  • An ability to establish good working relationships with a wide range of people including students, parents and colleagues. 
  • Confidence and experience in the use of ICT for learning, teaching and administration 
  • You are ambitious and enthusiastic.
