P.E Cover Supervisor

Teaching Personnel is the UK’s leading education recruitment agency. We are currently seeking an Cover Supervisor, specialising in Physical Education to work in SEN Secondary Schools in and around Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. You could be working with children with learning difficulties, disabilities, SEMH, behaviour and autism so you will be required to have some previous experience working with SEN children. 

Working on a supply basis as a Cover Supervisor offers great flexibility and freedom from planning and preparation. Your duties will involve:

  • delivering the lessons in accordance with the class teachers planning
  • encouraging and supporting pupils
  • you may be required to mark pupils work

This is a temporary position but there is the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate must:

  • be able to deliver Physical Education
  • have qualifications and/or training in Physical Education
  • be able to deliver outdoor education and on-site work
  • have the ability to manage challenging behaviour

To be successful in this role it is desirable if you:

  • have experience working within a school setting
  • have experience working with children and/or adults with SEN
  • be resilient and confident working with challenging behaviour
  • have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs, or a willingness to learn
  • Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant in a special needs school
  • Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning and support them in their social, emotional and personal wellbeing
  • be nurturing and enthusiastic
  • have experience in delivering outdoor education/experience within the sports industry

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
