This special school is based in the Croydon area of London seeking Teaching Assistants to help support students who have a range of Special Educational Needs.

They look for staff who have a good understanding of what is required to work with students who have severe and complex needs and Autism. The role available is full time and will continue on an ongoing basis to the end of the academic year.

You must have experience of working with children, although this may or may not come from a classroom based setting.

Successful candidates will be able to provide personal care, including toileting assistance, and be able to use equipment for moving and handling students in wheelchairs.

Training for working with children who have special needs is desirable but not mandatory as Teaching Personnel do offer CPD courses. The ability to develop rapport with students who have additional needs and a good understanding of their needs is crucial though.
