A Head Teacher from a Leyland based School is currently seeking an Outreach Support Worker to work specifically with KS2 - 4 pupils who have SEMH Difficulties, Autism, ADHD, ODD and Challenging Behaviours. Many of the pupils in School will display difficult behaviours and candidates must be willing to work on a small group / 1:1 basis with pupils who are struggling to engage with education.
The School is smaller than average and currently caters for approximately 45 pupils, both male and female. Many of these students can no longer remain in mainstream education and therefore candidates must be empathetic, yet resilient to the behaviours they may display.
Your job role will be to work both on site in School and off site in outreach centres or community centre's supporting pupils who are no longer attending School. Your job will be to re-engage pupils in education and assist with their learning. Work will be predominantly planned for you, however, you will be expected to deliver it to pupils on a 1:1 basis.
The School are hoping to appoint a long term, possibly permanent, member of staff.
The candidate successful for this role will benefit from:
- Negotiable pay rates GBP65 - 75 per day
