Full-Time Teaching Assistant (One-to-One Support)
Location: North of Cardiff
Pay: £12.90 an hour
Hours: Full-Time (8:30-3:30 Monday-Friday)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child recovering from a long-term illness and also has additional learning needs. This role requires a nurturing and patient individual, committed to helping the child reintegrate into school life and supporting their personal and academic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored educational support to meet the child’s individual needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
- Assist the child with personal care where necessary, maintaining their dignity and comfort.
- Support the child’s physical and emotional well-being as they transition back into a classroom setting.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to implement and adapt Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages progress, confidence, and self-esteem.
- Provide regular feedback to parents and school staff regarding the child’s progress and any areas of concern.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with children with special educational needs or health conditions.
- Demonstrate a nurturing, caring, and patient approach to working with children.
- Be adaptable and willing to assist with personal care tasks.
- Show excellent communication and teamwork skills, collaborating effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
- Have the ability to build a positive and trusting relationship with the child, fostering an encouraging and supportive environment.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience supporting children or vulnerable adults with additional learning or health needs is desirable whether that be personal or professional.
- A kind and nurturing nature.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
