Opportunity: Nurture Teaching Assistant Position in Hull

Position: Nurture Teaching Assistant
Location: Hull
Start date: Monday 15th April 2024
Contract type: Full-time, Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Pay rate: £12 - £13.50 per hour

About the Role

A primary school in the Hull area is seeking a Nurture Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role involves working with a small group of primary pupils, providing 1:1 support with phonics and reading strategies. The pupils are working below expected academic achievement and require intensive additional support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering tailored sessions to small groups of pupils.
  • Building professional relationships with the children and young people.
  • Playing a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and mental health of students.
  • Providing guidance, encouragement, and personalised support to students facing challenges.
  • Contributing to creating a nurturing and empowering environment that promotes the overall well-being of our students.

Requirements For Success

  • Experience supporting students with SEMH in a professional or personal capacity.
  • Ability to implement behaviour strategies confidently.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 & KS2 curriculum and phonics.
  • Background in support work or any other experience of mentoring children and young adults.
  • Emotional and physical resilience to meet the challenges and demands of the role.
