Nurture Teaching Assistant

Job Description:- Nurture Teaching Assistant

  • Work with individuals and groups of pupils to succeed with targets that are outlines by the SENCO and class teacher
  • Use a nurturing approach to promote and reinforce pupil self-esteem through praise and encouragement
  • Develop communication and social skills
  • Develop pupils self-management and regulation strategies
  • Set up and maintain a positive learning environment in the Nurture class
  • Be sensitive to the welfare and care of the pupils both physically and emotionally

The School:-  Primary School

This primary school based in Cwmbran hosts 2 nurture classes, both of which you will be required to work in as a Teaching Assistant. This school offers a wide range of opportunities for every child to reach their full potential and provides a varied range of after school clubs and an enriched curriculum for pupils of all ages. In the schools latest inspection ESTYN commented that the school is a well-ordered and caring community that promotes pupils well-being successfully. Additionally, pupils behaviour in and around the school is excellent. Most pupils make appropriate progress from their individual starting points and those in the resource base make good progress.

The Candidate:-

  • Obtain the ability to be proactive in situation that can be challenging
  • To be very engaging and be light hearted in difficult times
  • Demonstrate a positive and patient attitude
  • Enhanced child DBS, you will be assisted with this upon application
  • EWC registration, you will be assistant with this upon application
  • Provide 2 x references
