Teaching Personnel are working closely within a Primary school in Crawley that require Nursery/EYFS teaching assistants. As a key worker in the nursery, you will build a trusting relationship with the children and their parent/carer and play a key role in ensuring the happiness and welfare of the children within a safe and stimulating environment. This is a full-time, contract position with the school.

The school has extensive grounds with forest school and a range of special extra curricular activites for the children. Brilliant benifits and supportive management. The school are looking for someone full-time to be part of their team within the school. 

If you have nursery experience but desire school hours and holiday then this would be the perfect position.

You will hold a Level 3 childcare and education  qualification and have previous experience of working in a childcare setting that is ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’. The role is Permanent and going onto contract for the right candidate. 40 hours per week, salary dependant on skills. 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, supportive and caring environment for young children in the nursery
  • Help with short/medium/long-term planning, as well as the preparation of daily activities and provide suitable play and learning opportunities
  • Working as a key worker, you will be responsible for carrying out regular observations and updating their development files/learning journeys and uploading photographs to tapestry
  • The key worker is responsible for a group of children, but as a member of a room the key person is also responsible for all the children in their care and will contribute to room planning 
  • Share development progress information with parents and/or carers, including through the writing of reports and attendance at parents evenings
  • Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
  • Help prepare children for their transition to pre-prep, including helping to liaise with teachers and to transfer relevant information as required

Person Specification 

  • Level 3 CACHE in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience of working within a childcare setting.
  • Excellent understanding of the EYFS framework and requirements.
  • Knowledge of the statutory legislation concerning health & safety and safeguarding of children. 
  • Paediatric First Aid & Food Hygiene training (or willingness to train).
  • Enhanced DBS Police check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
