Nursery Assistant – Primary School, Gosport

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Location: Gosport
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you passionate about working with young children and supporting their early learning journey? We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our warm and welcoming primary school in Gosport.

✨ The Role:

As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the nursery team in delivering high-quality early years education. You will help create a safe, nurturing environment where children can explore, learn, and develop key skills.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

• Support the nursery teacher in daily activities and lesson preparation

• Assist children with personal care and social development

• Help maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating learning environment

• Engage with children to encourage learning through play

• Support observation and record-keeping of children’s progress

About You:

• Experience working with young children, ideally in a nursery or early years setting

• A caring, patient, and positive attitude

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• A relevant early years qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
