Experience working alongside children with ASC, particularly in the development of social and communication needs is a necessity.

A Good performing School in the heart of East Lancashire BB9, who work in partnership with Teaching Personnel have approached the agency in order to source a member of staff. The role that has been specified by the School is to begin from as the start after the May half term,2019 for the foreseeable, with the expectation being until the end of 2019 (and with the view to applying for the role for a January start). The role is to cover a member of staff who is due to start her Maternity leave. The member of staff will then be returning part-time once she returns.

The role is one that will require a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is keen to make a difference in the classroom and also make a difference to an individual child's life. The child who requires 0.8 of the timetable in support is currently working with the P-Scale levels and so the School are keen to implement a number of intervention sessions. They are hoping with the quality of Teaching Assistant and the well structured intervention, they will be able to see a difference with the child within half a term. The Head teacher has mentioned that the successful candidate will be someone who has good English and Maths subject knowledge and pedagogy, and also someone who possesses a nurturing personality as the child does have difficulty building relationships with new members of staff.

As this is a specialist teaching assistant role, the school will be looking to question the apply candidates about their recent experience working alongside children with Autism. You must be able to provide information on how you have previously raised standards in the classroom and how you can impact further in this School.

There are a number of pre-requisites in order to apply for this role through Teaching Personnel; you must hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above; you must have a Maths and English GCSE at C grade or above; you must have experience in working alongside children with Autism; you must be fun and engaging.

To apply for the role then please contact me in the office on 01772 842154 or email me with an update CV and cover email.
