Teacher of Music (0.4 FTE or 0.6 FTE, Pro-rated Salary MPS/UPS)

Salary: £31,650 — £43,607

Start Date: September 2025

A highly regarded secondary school is seeking a passionate Teacher of Music to join their vibrant music department. This part-time role (0.4 or 0.6 FTE) involves teaching across KS3 and KS4, with primary phase experience desirable. The successful candidate will be committed to raising attainment and inspiring students through music.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective music lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Motivate and support pupils to develop their musical skills and confidence

  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities such as choir, orchestra, and school productions

  • Collaborate with visiting instrumental staff and support wider music department initiatives

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant degree in music

  • Grade 8 proficiency in an orchestral instrument or piano

  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and pupil progress

  • Enthusiasm for working within a supportive, dynamic team environment
