A specialist school in Salford are seeking a Learning Support Assistant with experience in supporting students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) You must have at least 6 months previous experience of working with ASC in an educational capacity. The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and behavior management skills and will be comfortable supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis in a classroom environment.
Easily accessible by Public Transport from the surrounding areas and with good motorway links, the school caters for pupils aged 3-19 with a range of Special Educational Needs, and you will be required to work across the school, supporting pupils in Key Stages 1-4.
The following attributes are essential:
* A resilient nature - able to effectively manage pupil behaviour
* A sound understanding of the complexities relating to Special Educational Needs, in particular Autism and SLCN
* Experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
* Flexibility - you will be required to work across the school in Key Stages 1-4 and be able to adapt to meet indivdual needs
* Open to providing personal care for individual pupils
