Mental Health Teaching Assistant
Job description
Do you have experience working in schools or young people with various social, emotional and mental health needs? Are you looking for paid work to increase your Teacher training experience?
One of our Secondary SEMH Schools in Wakefield are looking for a pool of Behaviour Support Assistants to support children with additional needs including Autism and ADHD with challenging behaviour.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, organised and punctual, bringing a real passion for Education and behaviour support.
As a behaviour support assistant, you will support with tailoring resources according to pupil needs, supporting SEMH students 1-1 or in groups pastorally.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with young people with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Be pro-active and organised
- Have a passion and drive for Education
- Work well in a team and independently
- Confident supporting pupils 1:1
- Able to use initiative
Requirements:
- Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
- Have an overseas criminal clearance or willing to apply for one
- Have a child enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one
- Minimum of six months UK residency
- We do not accept those on skilled worker visas
- Please ensure you have references available upon request covering the last 24 months of employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
