Are you a qualified teacher who can inspire and support young people with low - level social, emotional, and mental health needs? We are seeking a Maths Tutor to work with two individual students on a 1:1 basis, providing both general and GCSE level maths tuition in a unique, therapeutic learning environment.
This specialist provision is based on a working farm set within five acres of countryside. Students care for over thirty animals, including goats, sheep, alpacas, emus, wallabies, donkeys, a horse, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, and geese, as part of their learning and development.
Location: Harwood, between Bolton and Bury
Hours: 2 hours on Mondays and 2 hours on Thursdays (4 hours per week, term time only)
Duration: Two academic years
Facilities include:
- A classroom and food technology room
- A stable block and small animal care area
- Five acres of fields and a forest school area with an adventure trail, swings, teepee, and fire pit
- A horticultural area where students grow fruit, vegetables, and herbs for use in cookery lessons, along with eggs from the poultry and apples from the orchard
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalised maths tuition at GCSE level to two students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Build positive relationships and create a safe, engaging learning experience
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles
- Integrate the natural and therapeutic environment into your sessions where appropriate
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status is essential
- Experience working with children or young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently and with sensitivity to individual challenges
- A calm, patient, and creative approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
