Our client school located on the border of Wigan and Leigh have the opportunity for a Maths teaching assistant to join their support team from September 2019.

This school wish to recruit a Maths specialist teaching assistant on a full time basis ahead of the new academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for a Maths graduate or an individual with previous experience delivering Maths tuition to gain a rewarding role as a teaching assistant within a high achieving Roman Catholic secondary school.

This Maths teaching assistant role will involve providing tuition to pupils aged 11-16 on a 1 to 1 basis within Mathematics.

Maths teaching assistant overview;

  • Full time Maths teaching assistant roles - September 2019
  • 12 month temporary opportunity with potential progression opportunities onto a teacher training programme with the school
  • Supporting pupils learning within Maths to enhance the development and learning of identified pupils
  • Located on the outskirts of Wigan and Leigh, easily accessible from the East Lancashire road
  • Earn up to £1300 per month and invaluable experience for those considering applying for a secondary PGCE in the future

As a graduate teaching assistant you will be required to deliver Maths tuition to pupils who require additional support within their studies, supporting the learning of SEN pupils, supporting in the deliver of lessons the class teachers in Maths.

If you are beginning your teacher training next September or are looking to secure a position on a PGCE/Schools Direct or Teach First, this is the ideal opportunity to gain the necessary classroom experience!

This school is located on the border of Wigan and Leigh, with excellent motorway and public transport links making it easily commutable from the surrounding areas; St Helens, Warrington, Salford and Bolton. The school aims to ensure students are keen to learn and make outstanding progress in their lessons, and the incoming Maths teaching assistant will be able to provide a positive and enthusiastic approach to learning.
