Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a secondary school based in Wigan who are seeking a Maths Teacher to start on 1st September 2025. This is a long-term position with the potential for a permanent contract with the school.

The school is OFSTED rated ‘Good’ and prides itself on creating an inclusive and engaging environment where students can flourish and develop socially and academically. This is a great opportunity for an experienced teacher seeking a new and exciting role, or an ECT looking to start their career in a mainstream secondary school.

As a Maths Teacher you will:

  • Create and deliver engaging lessons following the national curriculum and adapting these to suit individual learning needs when necessary
  • Foster and inclusive and supportive learning environment for all
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress through mock exams and on-the-spot feedback
  • Liaise with other members of staff to provide updates on pupil progress
  • Support the wider school community when necessary

What we’re looking for:

  • QTS or equivalent qualification
  • Experience teaching within a secondary school (this can include placements for ECT’s)
  • Strong behaviour/classroom management with good knowledge of current teaching techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
