Maths Teacher Required
Job description
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a secondary school based in Newcastle-under-Lyme (ST5) who are looking for a full-time Maths Teacher to join their department in January.
This is a great opportunity for an ECT who is looking to start their teaching career within a mainstream secondary school.
About the role:
- Start-date: 5th January
- Ongoing until the end of the academic year
As a Maths Teacher, you will be teaching across KS3, planning and delivering engaging lessons with the aim to inspire and create a love for the subject amongst the students. You will monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments, providing written and live feedback. You will also contribute to the Maths department, ensuring the curriculum remains engaging and up to date and contributing to any interventions/trips. The ideal candidate will be a confident individual with the ability to effectively manage behaviour and follow the schools behaviour policies when necessary.
What we’re looking for:
- QTS with strong background in Maths
- Good knowledge of the curriculum and ability to plan engaging lessons
- Ability to assess students both formally and informally
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both students and staff
- A confident, calm and empathetic approach to behaviour management

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
