Maths Teacher (GCSE) – Full Time / Long Term – Independent School, Truro

Location: Truro, Cornwall
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full Time, Long Term (potential for permanency)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a well-established independent school located just outside Truro.
This friendly and forward-thinking setting offers small class sizes, supportive leadership, and a nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to thrive academically and personally.

The successful candidate will teach GCSE-level Mathematics on a full-time, long-term basis, with the potential for permanency.
Educators with experience or interest in IT are particularly encouraged to apply, as there may be opportunities to support elements of the school’s digital learning and computing provision.

 

What the Role Includes:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons to KS3 and GCSE pupils 
  • Plan and assess effectively to ensure steady academic progress
  • Build pupils’ confidence and problem-solving skills through interactive and inspiring teaching
  • Support or contribute to elements of the school’s IT curriculum or digital learning initiatives (where appropriate)
  • Play an active bubbly role in the wider life of the school community

A Bit About you:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (ECTs and experienced teachers welcome)
  • Proven experience teaching Maths to GCSE level
  • Confident using technology to enhance teaching and learning
  • Passionate about creating engaging lessons that make maths enjoyable and accessible
  • Committed to high standards, pastoral care, and collaboration with colleagues
