Maths Teacher
Job description
A successful and inclusive 11–16 school in the heart of Oldham is seeking a committed and skilled Maths teacher for a September start. The school is known for its calm and orderly environment, with high expectations of both staff and students, and a strong emphasis on developing character as well as academic achievement.
The Maths department is one of the best-performing teams in the school, with strong outcomes year-on-year and high levels of staff retention. It is led by an experienced Head of Faculty who has embedded a clear curriculum model and regular in-house training to ensure consistency of delivery across all year groups. Assessment and feedback are built into the weekly structure, giving teachers protected time to plan collaboratively and focus on pupil progress.
Pupils enjoy Maths and respond well to challenge; the school has recently introduced stretch classes in Year 10 and 11, with selected students being supported through further maths content. Technology is well integrated, and the department uses a suite of online platforms to support homework, tracking, and in-class retrieval.
This is a great opportunity for a Maths specialist who thrives in a structured and supportive setting, with excellent facilities and visible, responsive leadership. Strong ECT induction and mentoring are in place, and experienced teachers will be supported to pursue TLRs or subject leadership over time.
