Fully Qualified Maths Teacher – Secondary Schools

Location: Liverpool
Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent


About the Role

We are currently seeking a passionate and fully qualified Maths Teacher to join a range of well-established secondary schools across Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a meaningful impact within dynamic and diverse school settings.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 in some schools. The role involves inspiring students, raising attainment levels, and supporting learners of all abilities to achieve their full academic potential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and effective Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable)
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and high achievers
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Support students in achieving strong GCSE (and A-Level where applicable) outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with department staff and contribute to curriculum development
  • Participate in school events, parents’ evenings, and professional development activities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Degree in Mathematics or a related subject
  • Experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for delivering high-quality education
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and challenge students across a range of abilities

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level Maths
  • Familiarity with the Liverpool education landscape
  • Experience supporting intervention strategies to raise attainment
  • Use of innovative teaching approaches or technology in the classroom

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
