Maths Teacher – Permanent Position
Location: Burnley Area 
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
Additional SEN allowance available
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Key Stages: KS3 and KS4


Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people outside mainstream education?

An established Alternative Provision in the Burnley area is seeking a committed and resilient Maths Teacher to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with diverse and often complex needs in a smaller, nurturing setting that prioritises individual growth and academic achievement.


About the role:
You will be responsible for delivering a balanced and engaging Maths curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role involves:

  • Delivering and adapting lessons to suit the needs of individual learners.

  • Monitoring pupil progress and supporting holistic development.

  • Acting as a form tutor and contributing to pastoral care.

  • Supporting students in achieving GCSE success and preparing for post-16 destinations.

  • Working as part of a committed team focused on student welfare and academic progress.


About you:
The school is looking for a skilled and compassionate practitioner with the following attributes:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (or post-degree conversion).

  • Evidence of high-quality teaching with impact on student progress.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may face behavioural, emotional, or social challenges.

  • Resilience, emotional intelligence, and strong communication skills.

  • Excellent organisational and ICT skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
