Job Advert: Fully Qualified Maths Teacher – Alternative Provision (East Lancashire)

Hours: Full-time

Pay Rate: £31,650 to £43,606 per annum, depending on experience

Start Date: September 2025

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Fully Qualified Maths Teacher to join our Alternative Provision setting in East Lancashire from September. This is a full-time role delivering high-quality Maths education to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, many of whom have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Our provision offers a supportive and nurturing environment for young people who require an alternative to mainstream education. We are looking for a passionate educator who can build strong relationships, engage students in their learning, and make a genuine difference in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils.
  • Plan and implement lessons that meet individual learning needs and EHCP targets.
  • Work collaboratively with a supportive team including SENCOs, pastoral staff, and external professionals.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development of a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment.
  • Support students with a range of emotional and behavioural needs, promoting positive behaviour and resilience.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4 level.
  • Understanding and experience of working with pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a restorative approach to pupil engagement.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
