Maths Teacher

Location: Birmingham
Salary: DOE
Hours: Full time

We are looking for a committed and compassionate Maths Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support and inspire young people with additional needs, helping them develop confidence, independence, and essential numeracy skills.

The successful candidate will teach Maths across KS3 and KS4 to students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and moderate learning difficulties.

The Role

You will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support pupils’ academic, emotional, and social development
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral teams
  • Track progress and adapt teaching strategies to maximise student achievement
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Has experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Has experience working within SEN, alternative provision, or mainstream settings
  • Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach
  • Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and making a real difference
