A caring and inclusive SEN primary school in Stockport is seeking a dedicated Nurture Support Practitioner to join their supportive team and make a lasting impact on the lives of young learners.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and supporting pupils who may need additional emotional, behavioural or learning support throughout the school day. The school supports children with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH needs and developmental delays.
About the Role
As a Nurture Support Practitioner, you will support pupils both within the classroom and through targeted nurture-based interventions. You will help create a calm, engaging and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued and encouraged to succeed.
Your role may include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group nurture support
- Supporting emotional regulation and social development
- Helping pupils engage positively with learning activities
- Supporting communication, confidence and independence
- Assisting with sensory strategies and brain breaks
- Building trusting relationships with pupils and families
- Supporting positive behaviour using restorative approaches
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and therapists
- Supporting with personal care where required

The school is based in Stockport and is easily accessible from Manchester, Cheadle, Hazel Grove, Denton and surrounding areas via public transport and major road links. Free or nearby parking is available for drivers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
