Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher
Location: Birmingham
Salary: DOE
Contract Type: Full time

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher. You will work with students who have a range of special educational needs, delivering tailored lessons that support their academic, social, and emotional development. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH)
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience in a specialist or mainstream SEN setting
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Additional SEN-related qualifications or training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
