Maths Teacher
Location: Basingstoke
Setting: 11–16 SEMH Provision (PRU – Short Stay)
An alternative education provision in Basingstoke is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher to work with pupils aged 11–16 within a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) setting. The provision operates as a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) and short stay school, supporting young people who require a highly structured, nurturing, and individualised approach to education.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and appropriately differentiated Maths lessons, supporting pupils to develop both academic skills and confidence in learning. Teaching will take place in small groups, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building, consistency, and positive behaviour support.
Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Previous experience working in SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision settings is desirable, though not essential for the right candidate. The role would suit a reflective and resilient practitioner who is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with varying availability, including full-time and part-time. Pay will be based on experience, aligned with the teacher pay scale. A Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service is required, or applicants must be willing to obtain one prior to appointment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
