Job description

Maths Teacher – Alternative Provision 
Location: East Lancashire
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: Dependent on skills and experience

Are you a passionate and resilient Maths Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the confidence and experience to support students with challenging behaviour? If so, we would like to hear from you.

We are currently recruiting for a committed and adaptable Maths Teacher to work in an Alternative Provision in the East Lancashire area. This is a long-term, full-time position and would suit someone who thrives in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

About the Role:

This role involves delivering Maths lessons to students who may not be in mainstream education due to social, emotional, or behavioural needs. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver engaging and accessible lessons while building positive, trusting relationships with students who require a tailored and supportive approach to learning.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths (Key Stages 3 and 4)

  • Experience working with young people who display challenging behaviour

  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach

  • Ability to build rapport and motivate disengaged learners

  • QTS or relevant teaching qualification is desirable but not essential for the right candidate

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
