Type: Full-time (temporary contract)
Pay: MPS/UPS (Paid weekly via PAYE)  £33,731 - £51,942

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and skilled Maths Teacher to join a secondary school in Cwmbran from January 2026, on a temporary contract until August 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a forward-thinking school that has a strong reputation for inclusion, pastoral support, and staff development. You will be joining a committed maths department dedicated to raising achievement, promoting confidence in numeracy, and supporting pupils to enjoy success across all key stages.

The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of its diverse community. Estyn’s latest report praised the school’s effective classroom teaching, positive relationships between staff and learners, and its ongoing focus on improving numeracy skills across all subjects. The maths department plays a key role in this school-wide drive to embed strong number fluency and problem-solving.

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging maths lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and potentially KS5)

  • Differentiate work to support learners of mixed ability, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)

  • Embed numeracy development into lessons, helping students build confidence and transferable skills

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and best practice within the department

  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and extra-curricular learning opportunities

  • Promote high standards of behaviour, enthusiasm for learning, and mutual respect in every lesson

About You

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs).

You’ll be:
✔️ A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a background in Mathematics
✔️ Confident teaching across KS3–4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
✔️ Passionate about improving pupil outcomes and developing numeracy skills
✔️ Organised, reflective, and proactive in supporting whole-school improvement
✔️ A strong communicator who thrives in collaborative team environments

Experience supporting students with ALN or working within inclusive classrooms would be advantageous.
