Maths Teacher - Bristol

Are you an experienced Maths teacher seeking a new and exciting role? Teaching Personnel Bristol is working on behalf of a client school in South Gloucestershire that requires a Maths teacher to start immediately.

About the Role:

  • Full Time
  • This role will be until the end of the academic year with opportunity to become permanent from August 2019.
  • Weekly pay between £575 - £800 (Dependant on experience)
  • Full planning and marking responsibilities will be included as part of this teaching position, and of course reflected in your pay.

The successful candidate will be expected to be able to confidently teach Mathematics to at KS3. The ability to teach Mathematics to KS4.is desirable, however, the ability to teach A Level is not a requirement.

As a full time position, the successful teacher of Mathematics will be expected to fully immerse themselves in school life, taking on all planning and marking responsibilities.

Applications from Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are welcomed and encouraged.

About the School:

You will be joining a very high achieving academy school, with excellent KS4 and post-16 examination results. One of the benefits of being part of an Academy is that the school has recently received a multi-million investment from the academy for new buildings and state of the art facilities.

Despite the schools good results the latest OFSTED report states that it is a school which requires improvement. However, the report does highlight that the academy has put in place a number of processes in order to make these improvements.

There were some signs of improvement, with inspectors saying the recent new Head teacher had "high aspirations" and that teachers hoped the new arrangements would stabilise the school. New appointments to the trustees board have also meant better governance, and there was a good relationship between teachers and students.

Pupils are proud of their school, and a high proportion go on to secure places in higher education or training when they leave, the report said.
