Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant for one of our partner secondary schools in the Levenshulme area. This is a full-time role starting in October until the end of the academic year, the role is initially on a temporary basis, but the successful candidate could be offered a full school-based contract down the line.

Our client is looking for someone to support teachers in its Maths department, it is important the candidate is a people person and can connect with people from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life. The successful candidate will also have great subject knowledge as well as good organisation skills to help manage the workloads of students who you are providing extended support to.

Additional responsibilities:

• Work with pupils whose first language is not English, you will help these students better understand assigned work by rewording it for example to make the sentences more concise
•  Work closely with teachers to help identify those who would benefit from receiving extended support
• When absences occur, provide full class cover to help develop you experience and teaching style
• Adapt your way of teaching to accommodate students with different learning styles
• Always uphold school standards, especially those regarding behaviour and bullying

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
