An ambitious and inclusive secondary academy in Portsmouth is offering a fantastic opportunity for a maths graduate who is passionate about education and considering a future career in teaching.

The school, recently graded ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted, is seeking a Graduate Maths Teaching Associate to join the team from September 2025. This is an ideal role for someone looking to gain real classroom experience while being fully supported, with a clear pathway into a school-based teacher training programme (ITT) from September 2026.

Whether you’ve just completed your maths degree or are looking for a purposeful, graduate-level role, this opportunity provides the perfect stepping stone into the teaching profession.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in mathematics or a closely related subject (or be due to graduate in summer 2025)

  • Have a genuine interest in working with young people and making a difference through education

  • Be confident, enthusiastic, and eager to learn from experienced teachers

  • Be motivated by the prospect of becoming a fully qualified teacher in the near future

The role offers:

  • A paid, full-time role working closely with experienced teachers and support staff

  • Hands-on experience supporting students in maths lessons and small group interventions

  • Weekly training and professional development opportunities

  • A supported route into Initial Teacher Training (ITT) starting in September 2026, through a nationally recognised teacher training programme

This is a brilliant opportunity for a maths graduate to gain meaningful, practical experience in a school setting, build confidence in the classroom, and take the first step towards a rewarding career in teaching.
