Maths Cover Supervisor – Alternative Provision – Burnley
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Burnley
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Long-term supply (to cover sickness)
Pay: Dependent on experience and qualifications
A Burnley-based Alternative Provision is seeking a committed and confident Maths Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a long-term supply role covering staff sickness, offering the opportunity to work with pupils who benefit from a tailored and supportive learning environment.
About the Role:
- Deliver pre-set Maths lessons to small groups of students
- Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment
- Support students with SEMH needs and help promote positive behaviour
- Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to ensure consistent support
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working in education or with young people (not necessarily as a qualified teacher)
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to engage learners positively
- A calm, patient and flexible approach to classroom support
- A current enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
This role is well suited to graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff looking to make a real impact in an alternative educational setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
