Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Manual Handling trained teaching assistant to work with a client school based in Cwmbran. This school is SEN specific, supporting children with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) and S&L (Speech and Language). Candidates with additional qualifications, such as Makaton, Team Teach and PECS would be advantageous for the role.
Applicants will have considerable, recent experience of working with children within a Primary or Secondary capacity, and whose background has involved specifically working with children requiring behavioural and emotional support.
Duties will include:
- Supporting SEN pupils in the learning environment
- Providing personal and welfare care
- Classroom administrative support
- Support pupils with their day to day routine
- Play time duty may be required of you
